Privacy Policy

Interconnected Systems Inc. — interconnectedsystems.net

Effective date: May 6, 2026

1. Overview

Interconnected Systems Inc. (“ISI”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit interconnectedsystems.net (the “Site”), how we use it, and your rights under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

We collect minimal personal information. There are no user accounts, no advertising, and no third-party tracking or analytics scripts on this Site. All tools are available without registration.

2. Information We Collect

a) Contact Form. When you submit the contact form on our website, we collect: your name, company name, email address, phone number, and message body. This information is transmitted directly to ISI staff by email and is not stored in a database.

b) Feedback Widget. If you submit a star rating or comment via the feedback tab on our website, we collect: your numerical rating (1–5), your optional comment (up to 500 characters), the name of the tool tab you were viewing, your IP address, and your browser user agent string. This data is transmitted to ISI staff by email and is not stored in a database.

c) Server Access Logs. Our web server automatically records a standard access log entry for each request to the Site. These entries include: IP address, date and time, URL requested, HTTP status code, referring URL, and browser user agent string. These logs are used exclusively for security monitoring, abuse detection, and error diagnosis. They are retained for approximately 90 days and then deleted.

d) Tool Inputs Forwarded to Third Parties. Many of our diagnostic tools operate by forwarding user-supplied inputs (such as IP addresses, domain names, or URLs) to third-party APIs to retrieve results. See Section 4 for the full list of third-party services.

e) BOM Email Subscriptions. If you request a Multi-Cloud Interconnect Bill of Materials by email from the Cloud Ops planner, we collect: your email address, optional name, the planner inputs you entered (source/destination region, monthly data volume, sustained bandwidth, latency target, connectivity-type filter, and any data-pattern slider values), a salted hash of your IP address, and timestamps. This information is stored in a small SQLite database on our server (api/bom_db.sqlite) so that the system can deliver the confirmation email, the requested BOM, and — if you opted in — the recurring monthly BOM. The database is not exposed publicly and contains no other personal data. Emails are subject to a double opt-in: nothing is sent to your inbox until you click the confirmation link, and every email contains a one-click unsubscribe link.

3. How We Use Your Information

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise disclose personal information to third parties for commercial or marketing purposes.

4. Third-Party Services

The following third-party services may receive data as part of normal tool operation. Each service is governed by its own privacy policy; ISI does not control how these services collect, use, or store data.

Your browser may cache static assets (CSS, JavaScript files, images) in accordance with standard HTTP cache-control headers we send. This caching is a standard browser behaviour and does not involve ISI collecting any information from you.
